• Wine
You cannot discuss things to do in the area without firstly talking about wine, as this is possibly one of Spain's most important wine areas, like Bourdeux is to France and Napa Valley is to California. Even if you do not drink wine or thought you have no interest we strongly urge you to take advantage of the FREE local wine tours & tasting only minutes from our house. The world famous Torres wine estate is situated just outside of Vilafranca, visit this web site for more information  www.torres.es
Also you may have seen the Black Cava bottles in the supermarkets called Freixnet they have a great wine tour in the wonderful small town of Sant Sadurni D'Anoia
A wine town steeped in culture and tradition. www.freixenet.es
Another great tour is Cordoniu who have the largest underground cellars anywhere in the world!!! Very enjoyable www.codorniu.es
I am a bit of a Spanish wine buff hence why I bought the house… I have hand selected some of my favourite Spanish wines for your pleasure in the house. Believe me I have had to sample a lot of tried and tested wines to pinpoint what I consider the good ones, saving you the trouble of having to guess whether a label is any good. I know it's a tough job but someone had to do it!

• Culture Vultures
For those of you history and architecture we recommend a visit to the Cistern monasteries & Churches in near by,
Sant Marti Sarrocca - Up on the hill in the old town is a stunning castle and church,
Vilafranca - Two lovely churches and a wine museum celebrating the thousand year history of win making the area, walk around the old town for nostalgic history.
Montserratt Mountains - Stunning with a lovely town and monastery - a super family day out
Reus - the birth place of Antonio Guadi and full of Modernistic buildings a lovely city
Tarragona - A world heritage city with some very important Roman ruins in including a amphitheatre. Great day out.

• Barcelona
You cant come to the area without a day in Barcelona, shopping, the Zoo for the kids, tapas, nightlife… it has it all, only 50mins door to door from the house or a train from Vilafranca.

• Fun Lovers
Looking for fun….then you need to hit the coast. The coastline of the Costa Dorada is less rugged than its Northern neighbour of the Costa Brava, with miles and miles of flat golden sandy beaches. It has all the important ingredients: great year-round weather, quality hotels, two historical major cities. Reus and Tarragona are sleepy fishing villages, excellent restaurants in abundance, superb road infrastructure and lastly two airports Reus and Barcelona. Tarragona, perched next to the coast, is renowned for its fascinating Roman ruins. Reus, a smaller city, is famous as the birth place of Gaudi and once was a major trading city in Europe.

• Port Aventura
Teeming with more than a million square meters of fascinating scenery, discover over thirty thousand types of vegetation. Voyage from the mild Mediterranean climate of Mediterránia to the tropics of Polynesia. Find yourself at the Great Wall of China one minute and at the ruins of Mayan Mexico the next. Join real live cowboys for a taste of the Far West. Put your danger to the test on the amazing thrill rides at Port Aventura theme park. Experience the Dragon Khan roller coaster with 8 inverted loops, try out the two track roller coaster Stampida entirely made of wood and get soaked on Tutuki Splash! Only the very brave hearted will want to ride again! Click here to visit the the site.
