when you arrive our cleaner will run through the house with you. If there is anything you are not happy with please tell her immediately so that she can sort this out for you.

 

Please note if you go out for the day please make sure the house is locked and the front gates and door to the street are locked. In view of the size of the grounds we highly recommend that you keep the front door and gate locked at all times even when you are in the house!

Facilities /Working things in the house

 

Swimming pool;

Our gardener will maintain the pool while you are there the day you arrive and one evening a week – should you have any issues with the pool please contact us by email info@barcelona-villa.com. Please respect our neighbours and there should be no swimming in the pool after 22.00 pm.

 

BBQ House;

In the barbeque house there is a fridge, as well as a sink to wash up. There is chopped wood provided for 1 fire. Additional wood and/or charcoal can be bought in the town to have a BBQ. There is also an electric BBQ for your use – please keep this clean after use. The sink in the BBQ house is a drain away sink and therefore please be patient when you empty the sink – it can take time to empty.

 

In the BBQ House there is a dresser where you will find tennis rackets etc. Each guest is left tennis balls/shuttle cox and ping pong balls – if you require more than can be purchased in the supermarket. Please return the tennis balls/shuttlecox and ping pong balls at the end of your stay and replace anything you have broken for the next guest.

 

It is law in Spain that music outside must be turned off after 22.00 pm. Please respect this and make sure that no music is played in the BBQ house after this time. Police will be called after this time by the neighbours if you are disturbing them.

 

Tennis Court;

Please respect our neighbours if using the tennis court at night and we have an agreement that no one will use the tennis court after 22.00 pm.

 

Pergola;

Again please respect our neighbours at night when using the patio area and remember that this is a residential area.

 

Electric;

The Main Electric switch to the property is at the entrance front door outside to the house on the top left of the door. If you have any issues with the electrics please speak to us immediately and do not attempt to deal with it yourself as we know the system very well.

 

Gas;

The Main Gas supply stop cock is directly underneath the stairs to the house with a vertical tube to the left of the door under the stairs. The handle is turned to the on position in the event of an emergency please turn the handle to off to disconnect the gas. Please avoid touching this and speak to us immediately should you have any problems.

 

Water;

The main water stop cock is at the entrance front door outside to the house in the bottom right hand corner. You will see a blue handle which is turned on. In emergencies you can turn this clockwise to stop the water to the house. Please avoid touching this and speak to us immediately should you have any problems.

 

The water in the house is not suitable for drinking and we recommend that you buy drinking water from the supermarket.

 

During the summer months in Spain water is always in short supply and the house has a limited supply of water. Therefore we would ask you to be conscience of this and use water as sparingly as possible.

 

You will note if staying at the house during the summer months the grass/lawn is often very dry and during these months never looks its best and we apologise for this and hope this does not spoil your enjoyment of the gardens. Come the autumn and the cooler weather the lawn always returns to its former glory!

Sanitary - IMPORTANT PLEASE

We provide sanitary bags in all bathrooms please never put sanitary items down the toilet as this will block the system. There are bags and bins provided in all five bathrooms.

 

Lights in main house;

As you enter the front door on the left hand wall is an electric box. The first two switches on the left are the main power to upstairs and the outside surrounding lights. The other switches are for individual circuits in the house. You should not have to touch these unless you have a power surge and need to turn the switch back on.

 

Lights in lower house;

As you enter the front door on the left hand wall is an electric box. The first two switches on the left are the main power to downstairs and the outside surrounding lights. The other switches are for individual circuits in the flat. You should not have to touch these unless you have and a power surge and need to turn the switch back on.

 

Lights in garden;

These are on a timer and please do not change the settings on the timer for outdoor lights. The lights for the garden are on the back wall in the BBQ house. If you have any issues with lighting please speak to Tobi – never try and adjust lights yourself.

 

Water Sprinklers;

These are on a timer and will automatically come on and off in the morning and evening. Please avoid using the grass when they are on. Please do not use the water hoses in the garden as there is a limited supply of water to the house.

 

First Aid Kit;

A First Aid kit can be located in the laundry room in the main house and you should check this as soon as you arrive. We hold no liability for anything which is used from the First Aid Box and anything used should be replaced before you leave please.

 

Bikes;

Later in this book you will see details of where to hire bikes.

 

 

 

WARNINGS

 

Garden;

Please do not leave children unattended in the garden. There are many stairs etc., and children should not be allowed to play in these areas.

 

The back of the garden beyond the tennis court is a private residential area and strictly out of bounds.

 

Swimming Pool;

The swimming pool is extremely deep at all points and does not have a shallow end. Young children should not be allowed to use the pool unsupervised and non swimmers are not allowed to use the pool in any circumstances – under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

 

We would request that you do not use the swimming pool with suntan oil on as this damages the filters and will affect your enjoyment of the pool. Please remove all toys and inflatables from the pool when you are not using them as again these can affect the pump and filters.

 

Staircase Main House;

Please be aware young children should not be allowed the use the staircase or play on this at any time without an adult. The ceiling as you come up and down the stairs is quite low and you should be careful of this.

 

Under the min stairs to the house;

This is a storage area and is private – please make sure children and warned not to enter this area. This is where tools are kept and can be dangerous.

 

RECYCLING –

We are trying to collect used corks and please recycle these for us!
